  1. Stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself. Everything looks normal, maybe. It’s like having a friend to explore science with.
  2. Stick out your right hand to shake hands with your friend. What went wrong? Your friend does not seem to want to shake, not with right hands anyway.
  3. Take a piece of paper and write an “A” on it. Hold the “A” up for your friend in the mirror to see and you’ll find your friend is holding an “A” up for you. Good friend.
  4. Take another piece of paper and draw a small “b” on it and hold it up for your friend. Your friend is showing you a what? A small “d”.
  5. Okay, turn your small “b” upside down and notice your friend is showing you a small “p”. But look directly at the paper with the small “b” and turn it over. What you see is a nothing; it’s not a letter at all.
  6. Is there any way to fix this? Take another piece of paper and write a small “d” on it; show it to your friend. What is your friend showing you? A small “b”. Look directly at the paper and turn it over. You see a small “p”. Now show it to your friend, while it is turned over, and your friend shows you a nothing, no letter.
  7. Mirrors can be tricky.
