goodisman.com Detective A Science Project
- Stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself. Everything looks normal, maybe.
Its like having a friend to explore science with.
- Stick out your right hand to shake hands with your friend. What went wrong? Your
friend does not seem to want to shake, not with right hands anyway.
- Take a piece of paper and write an A on it. Hold the A up for your friend in
the mirror to see and youll find your friend is holding an A up for you. Good
friend.
- Take another piece of paper and draw a small b on it and hold it up for your
friend. Your friend is showing you a what? A small d.
- Okay, turn your small b upside down and notice your friend is showing you a small
p. But look directly at the paper with the small b and turn it over. What you see
is a nothing; its not a letter at all.
- Is there any way to fix this? Take another piece of paper and write a small d on
it; show it to your friend. What is your friend showing you? A small b. Look directly
at the paper and turn it over. You see a small p. Now show it to your friend, while
it is turned over, and your friend shows you a nothing, no letter.
- Mirrors can be tricky.
